Session Overview:

Dr. Ward’s presentation is titled 'Impact of Long COVID on quality of life, cognition and employment: the REACT population cohort in England, UK.' She will discuss how the REACT Cohort began as a study of the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 infection in the population in England based on random samples of people in the community. It is now one of the largest health cohorts in the world with 2.4 million participants. She will further discuss results from her team’s follow- up with 270,000 adults describing the proportion with Long COVID and the impact on their quality of life, cognition and employment.

Emily Cooper's presentation is titled 'Recognition, support and self-management in Long COVID: Public involvement and qualitative findings from the REACT-LC study.' Emily will provide an overview of how our public involvement activities shaped the research question for the qualitative arm of the REACT Long COVID study. She will also share a summary of the findings around recognition and inclusion in relation to Long COVID and how ‘who counts’ determines who accesses, or has access to, clinical care and Long COVID-based support in the UK.

Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the speakers following their presentations.
